De organisatoren van de Amstel Gold Race zijn erin geslaagd het Nederlandse energiebedrijf Eneco als nieuwe sponsor binnen te halen. Naast hoofdsponsor Amstel en het reeds een aantal jaren aan de Amstel Gold Race verbonden Holland Casino wordt Eneco de derde belangrijke sponsorpartner van de Nederlandse wielerklassieker. Eneco was in de wielersport al enkele jaren actief als sponsor van de Eneco Tour, die evenals de Amstel Gold Race deel uitmaakt van de ProTour.
